Egypt Green Line High Speed Train Project
Yapıtel GTM LLC, as a joint subcontractor, has undertaken the installation of the Overhead Catenary System (OCS) for the Egypt Green Line High-Speed Railway Project, under the National Authority for Tunnels (NAT). The project, part of Egypt’s national high-speed rail network, spans 660 km and includes 21 stations, connecting major urban and regional centers across the country. It is executed in cooperation with the main contractor consortium of Orascom Construction S.A.E. and The Arab Contractors, with Siemens Mobility GmbH and Siemens Mobility Egypt LLC (SMO) acting as the employer’s representatives.
The entire line will be electrified with a 25 kV 50 Hz single-phase system and designed for a maximum operating speed of 250 km/h, in accordance with international high-speed railway standards. Yapıtel GTM LLC is responsible for the installation of all OCS components, including metallic structures, non-copper and copper conductors, cantilever assemblies, and the associated electrical systems, such as disconnectors and auxiliary transformers, ensuring seamless power transmission and reliable operation along the Green Line corridor.
The first 120 km section of the project is planned to be executed over a 15-month schedule.
